Police search for missing FRSC officer, teenage daughter in Ogun

Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, a 39-year-old senior officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, and her adolescent daughter Sewa Lasisi have been reported missing in Ogun State.

The mother and daughter were reported missing after leaving their home in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Sunday and never coming back, according to a statement issued on Friday by State Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola.

In the FRSC structure, Oluwamayokun is a Superintendent Route Commander, a fourth-level senior operational officer in charge of managing several routes and organizing tactical enforcement actions.

Family members and coworkers have attempted, but failed, to contact the officer and her daughter on their cell phones, according to the police.

The statement read in part, “The Ogun State Police Command is seeking the assistance of the general public in locating one SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, a 38-year-old female officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Abeokuta Unit, and her daughter, Sewa Lasisi, who have been declared missing.

“The report was lodged at Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on Tuesday, November 5, 2025, by a Federal Road Safety Officer serving in Abeokuta, in the company of the victims’ family members.

“According to the report, the officer and her daughter left their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Sunday morning, November 2, 2025, and have not returned home since then. All efforts to reach them on the phone have proved abortive.”

In order to determine the circumstances surrounding their absence and guarantee their safe return, the state Commissioner of Police ordered an immediate and comprehensive inquiry, according to the statement.

Anyone with helpful information regarding their whereabouts was urged by the command to get in touch with the closest police station.

“The command assures all that all information received will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,” the statement added.
