Elections for the Rivers Local Government began at a number of registration locations throughout the state.  

As of eight in the morning, the centers were occupied with delivering election materials to different wards.  

Officials from the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) were observed gathering election-related materials at a registration center in Elekahia.  

In order to guarantee equitable distribution of materials for the Port Harcourt Local Government Area, a few party agents were also present.  Vehicles carrying supplies and election officials were observed departing the center.
