Senator Mpigi Barinada, a lawmaker from Rivers State's South East Senatorial constituency, passed away. 

In a tribute post on his official X Twitter on Thursday, Akin Alabi, the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Works, acknowledged the tragic situation. "Good night, my dear friend," he wrote.

He wrote, “Good night my dear friend. Rest in Peace, Senator Mpigi Barinada. Sen Mpigi represented Rivers South East in the Senate”.

The Senate Committee on Works was chaired by the Rivers senator. It was not possible to determine the circumstances of his untimely death at the time of publication.
