Seven journalists die in Gombe car crash
A Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) bus carrying them from a colleague's wedding in the State's Kaltungo Local Government Area was involved in the tragedy.
The bus's tire ruptured during the return trip around Kumo town in the Akko Local Government Area of Gombe after a successful wedding program in Kaltungo.
This caused the vehicle to lose control and veer into nearby bushes. Seven people have died, according to Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Gombe Sector Commander Samson Kaura and Government House Director General, Press and Media Affairs Ismaila Misilli.
Four more people have been injured to varying degrees. While the injured were taken to the hospital and are presently receiving treatment, the bodies have been sent to a morgue in Gombe.
