Six real estate marketers abducted in Ogun

During an inspection visit to Ogun State, no fewer than six real estate marketers from Lagos were abducted.  The victims had gone to visit their company's land in Oyebola village in the state's Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area when the event happened, according to DAILY POST.

The State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, confirming the occurrence in the late hours of Sunday, said it happened on Friday when the markers were taken for inspection.

Ogunlowo assured the public that all hands are on deck to help the victims recover their freedom, adding that the command was informed and that investigations were ongoing.

He said, “So, they brought some marketers from Lagos to come and see the land so that they can have the requisite information to market the land for the members of the public who are interested.

“It was during their visit to this land that the six people were abducted. The command had been on it since, and we shall definitely ensure that these people regain their freedom.”

Recall that Southern state governors, earlier this week, repeated their demand for the creation of state police, stating that it will address the insecurity issue currently facing the country and assure effective grassroots security.

Chairman of the Southern governors forum and Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun at the forum held at Iperu-Remo region of the state, argued that the institution of state police remains non-negotiable and would allow states assume direct responsibility for defending their residents.
