Sleepy driver crashes into another vehicle on Third Mainland Bridge

Two cars engaged in a collision at the Third Mainland Bridge at the Adeniji Intersection in Lagos State have been evacuated by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and Nigeria Police Force personnel.

The Nation was informed that early on Monday, January 19, an unidentified driver of a Lexus jeep lost control and collided with another car after falling asleep while operating the vehicle.

The Lexus Jeep with license plate RBC-516EA collided with the Toyota RAV4 with a plate BDG400FA and the other car with license plate LND-327EH.

Our reporter saw a video of the incident that showed emergency personnel attempting to both remove the impacted automobiles from the highway and regulate vehicle movements.

"A driver of a Lexus jeep was fast asleep while driving and ran into another vehicle on the Third mainland bridge at Adeniji Intersection," LASTMA stated on its verified X site, which was once Twitter.

“Cones have been well placed behind for security measures, with ongoing efforts to evacuate both vehicles from the location. This is currently affecting traffic movement from Adekunle inward the Island.”
