Sola Giwa steps down as Sanwo-Olu's special adviser
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's Special Advisor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, has resigned.
In a statement posted on his official X account on Wednesday, Giwa announced his resignation, stating that he had left the office the day before.
“Yesterday, I stepped down from my role as Special Adviser on Transportation to the Governor of Lagos State,” he wrote.
Giwa highlighted his contributions to the state's transport improvements under the THEMES+ Agenda and called his tenure in office a privilege.
“It has been an honour to serve and contribute to the transformation of our transport system. I remain grateful to Mr Governor for the trust and opportunity,” he added.
The former adviser revealed plans to run for a seat in the House of Representatives and clarified that his choice was motivated by a desire to pursue elected office.
“After deep reflection and wide consultations, I am answering a higher call to represent the people of Lagos Island Federal Constituency II,” he stated.
Giwa emphasized that strengthening representation and advancing significant legislation targeted at enhancing the lives of his constituents will be his next priorities.
