Tanker explodes at filling station in Lagos
While trying to unload its cargo at a filling station on Old Akute Road in Obawole, Iju Ishaga, Lagos, a fuel tanker caught fire on Wednesday.
According to reports, the fire incident began at around 6 p.m. from a structure behind the filling station. The event did not result in any casualties, according to the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire was put out, but efforts were still underway to keep the area safe, according to Jubril Gawat, an advisor to Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
According to Gawat, officials responded to the incident quickly and efficiently, and four fire vehicles were sent to the location from Agege, Ikeja, and Alausa headquarters.
He gave the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service credit for their successful response to the crisis.
