Tanker, truck crash on Third Mainland Bridge.

There have been significant traffic delays on the Third Mainland Bridge this morning due to a serious collision between a tanker and a heavy-duty truck.  The collision happened on the routes leading to Lagos Island overnight close to the Unilag seafront.

Drivers driving towards Iyana Oworo from the Tollgate are experiencing extremely sluggish traffic due to the crash.  When many commuters woke up, their commute to work was severely disrupted.

The Nigeria Police Force and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officials arrived on the site right away.

They made an effort to control traffic flow and guarantee everyone's safety.  To alert drivers and stop more collisions, orange safety cones have been positioned on the road.

"Our personnel are on the ground, and efforts are underway to evacuate the affected vehicles," a traffic official stated. "We are working hard to restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible."

When approaching an accident scene, drivers are advised to drive cautiously and to anticipate delays.  As they attempt to clear the road, authorities have pledged to offer additional updates.

If at all feasible, drivers who intend to utilize the bridge should think about leaving their house early or taking a different route.
