Terrorists attack police base in Kwara, kill three

Suspected terrorists attacked a Police Mobile Force (PMF) camp in Tenebo community, Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, resulting in at least three police officer deaths and two injuries.

Residents of the rural town fled their homes after intense shooting during the incident, which took place in the early hours of Saturday.

According to sources, the attackers came in huge numbers and unexpectedly attacked the PMF camp, overpowering the on-duty cops before killing three and wounding two more.

Suleiman Issa, a resident, recounted the attack's exact moment.

“This ugly killings happened at the early hours of 1am, just at midnight in Tenebo village, Kaiama.

“A terrible situation happened! Bandits came in their large numbers and invaded the villagers, people were killed and some were wounded,” Issa said.

The event was confirmed by Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a spokesman for the Kwara State Police Command.

“I regret to confirm that an attack on the PMF Camp occurred in the early hours of today. I will provide more accurate and detailed information shortly. Thank you,” he said.

In certain areas of Kaiama Local Government Area, where armed groups have frequently targeted civilians and security units, the most recent incident underscores the ongoing instability.
