Reports state that the catastrophe happened suddenly and shocked the neighborhood, causing locals and onlookers to hurry to the scene out of concern for potential casualties and additional structural failure.
According to an eyewitness, the building abruptly collapsed on Thursday at around 11:40 a.m. People fled nearby buildings for safety as a result of the incident, disrupting regular activity in the neighborhood.
The rescue effort has started, according to Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASTMA), who verified the regrettable situation.
