President Bola Tinubu will now return to Nigeria over the weekend after extending his working holiday by a few days.

On August 30, President Tinubu left Nigeria for London to start his working holiday.

Following a week in London, he relocated to Paris, France, where he met with Mr. Vincent Bollore, a businessman whose media firm comprises Canal+, Multichoice, and Universal Music firm, as well as French President Emmanuel Macron.

President Tinubu has been staying in touch with his home country since he started his vacation. Among other things, he has ordered an independent panel to look into the deaths of 37 illegal miners in Minna after they were detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who has also been representing the President at events, will continue to do so even though Shettima departed Abuja on September 20 for New York to attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

In terms of politics, Senator Abubakar Yari, the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), has been guiding important party officials in discussions with the nation's leading traditional leaders.

The President "described the baseless insinuation by former Vise President Atiku Abubakar and a United States-based lobbying firm about President Tinubu's non-attendance at UNGA as irresponsible," according to a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Advisor to the President on Information and Strategy.

"Vice President Shettima, who is representing the President at the global conference, will present Nigeria's national statement," the statement reads.
