Two suspected bandits have been neutralised by Operation Safe Haven troops in the Nemaledu settlement in the Gimbi District of the Wase Local Government Area of the Plateau.  

This was revealed in a statement released in Jos on Friday by OPSH Media Officer Maj. Samson Zhakom.  

Zhakom claimed that after receiving a tip about bandit activity in the area, the suspects were neutralised.  He clarified that during the operations, the troops also found a firearm.

“Acting on a tip-off on the movement of bandits along Nemaledu community of Wase LGA, our troops laid an ambush at the crossing point of bandits in the area.

“During the operation, troops made contact with the bandits and neutralised two of them.

“Troops also recovered one fabricated AK-47 rifle from the neutralised bandits,” he said.

The media officer stated that OPSH is dedicated to eliminating all criminal elements from the state and urged Plateau inhabitants to support the effort.
