Truck collision leaves tricycle driver dead

In Oke Osho, Temu, Ejinrin, Lagos State, a tricycle driver lost his life in a traffic accident that also injured many others.  According to eyewitnesses, the incident started when two truck drivers lost control after apparently fighting recklessly on the highway.

One of the trucks reportedly swerved out of its lane during the process, colliding with a trike and a bicycle carrying bags of pure water.

The Keke driver died instantly in the Wednesday collision, and the water vendor and a number of other victims suffered serious injuries.

“The impact was terrible. The tricycle rider died immediately, while others were rushed to the hospital with serious wounds,” an eyewitness narrated.

Grieving Hausa youngsters, who were mourning their kinsman, protested in the streets after the death, which infuriated the community.

They obstructed the main highway, resulting in traffic jams throughout Epe and impeding traffic on vital roads that link Ikorodu, Ijebu-Ode, and Ajah.  In the resulting traffic jam, one driver said, "I've been here for hours."

Although the accident is traumatic, everyone's situation has gotten worse because of the traffic blockage.  To stop the situation from getting worse, security personnel and local authorities acted quickly.
