Two killed in Lagos suspected cult clash
A purported cult incident in Lagos State's Ajah area resulted in the shooting deaths of two unidentified individuals.
The event happened on Tuesday night, according to a source who spoke to our correspondent on Wednesday under the condition of anonymity for security concerns.
He claimed that the attackers broke into a packed area near the Ikota complex and began firing intermittently. He claimed that this caused confusion in the neighborhood as locals and business owners fled for their lives.
“People were going about their businesses when we heard the sound of gunshots around Ikota complex. This caused everyone to run for safety.
“After the whole place became calm, two guys were seen lying lifeless at different spots.”
He continued by saying that upon closer inspection, the two adult males were found to have gunshot wounds. Naija Confra, a platform that promotes anti-cultism, said in a post on Wednesday that the attack was connected to cults.
“Naija Confra reported a shooting near Ikota Shopping Complex, Ajah, Lagos. We can now confirm that the incident was cult-related, involving Aye and Eiye.
“The attack was carried out by Aye, and two people were reportedly targeted. At this time, we have not identified the victims and cannot say whether they were cultists or not,” the platform wrote.
