Umar Ahmed becomes Nasarawa new commissioner of police
CP Umar Ahmed Chuso has been appointed as Nasarawa State's 30th Commissioner of Police. This was revealed in a statement provided to reporters on Thursday in Lafia, the state capital, by SP Ramhan Nansel, the Command's Public Relations Officer.
CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, who was transferred by the Inspector-General of Police to the Police Staff College, Jos, as Deputy Commandant, is replaced by CP Umar.
He urged cooperation and public support in the state's continuous battle against crime and criminality.
CP Umar, a native of Sokoto South LGA in Sokoto State, graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics.
He received training at the Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, before joining the Nigeria Police Force on June 10, 1994, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
