A pregnant University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) 300-level student named Cynthia Chukwundah is accused of burning her lover, 32-year-old Sunny Amadi, to death over the weekend in the Choba axis of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.  

Although the precise circumstances behind Cynthia's conduct are unknown, some locals informed Daily Trust that it might have been the outcome of a small quarrel between the two lovers.  

The deceased is the father of the child Cynthia is carrying, according to information received.  Cynthia, who left the area right away after committing the crime, was later taken into custody by authorities, according to the residents.

The deceased apparently gave up after some altruistic neighbors hurried him to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) for treatment.  

The police have located Cynthia, who is presently receiving medical treatment at a hospital for injuries she sustained during the event, according to a statement released by Rivers State police spokesperson SP Grace Iringe-Koko on Tuesday, who confirmed the incident.
