Unknown gunmen kill two women, burn house in Kano
After two ladies were killed and their home was set on fire by unidentified attackers, residents of Tudun Yola in Kano State's Gwale Local Government Area became terrified. Alhaji Ashiru Shu'aibu Usaini's wives, Hauwa'u Yakubu and Zahra'u Aliyu, were the victims.
Before setting the house on fire, the perpetrators attacked one of the ladies, according to family members and local authorities. Later, the second wife was discovered dead in the restroom.
“We didn’t know anything had happened until my father called me at night asking me to return home. We found one of the bodies burnt, while the other was locked in the bathroom. When we forced the door open, she was already dead,” he said.
Shu'aibu continued, "The family first thought it was an accidental fire, but they later realized the deaths were due to a targeted attack."
Alhaji Ashiru, the husband, expressed sorrow and asked security services to find and detain the perpetrators.
“They killed my wives and then set one of the bodies on fire. I still don’t know why this wicked act was carried out,” he said.
CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, a spokesperson for the Kano State police, acknowledged the occurrence and stated that an investigation had been started.
