Veteran journalist Bayo Osiyemi dies at 75

Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the first civilian governor of Lagos State, had Prince Bayo Osiyemi as his chief press secretary. He passed away.  

The previous head of the Mushin Local Government, known as "Charming Prince," reportedly passed away yesterday at the age of 75.  

"We announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, grandfather, and esteemed community leader, Prince Bayo Osiyemi with profound sadness," the family stated in a statement released by Seyi Osiyemi.

“He departed this life early this morning, November 24.

“While we mourn his loss deeply, we also celebrate his well-lived life and the countless individuals he touched.

“Further details regarding the memorial service and arrangements will be announced shortly. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

Osiyemi previously served as Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's Special Advisor on Chieftaincy Matters.  

In addition, he was the CEO of Penby Communications and the editor of Lagos News.  In addition, he wrote a column for The Nation Newspaper every week.  

Sisu and Arowosugbo of Ijebu-Igbo, the biggest town in Ogun State, welcomed Prince Osiyemi into the world on February 4, 1950.  He inherited his blue blood from the Arowosugbo Dynasty, his mother's heritage.
