Vétéran journalist Lekan Alabi is dead
Alhaji Lekan Alabi, a seasoned journalist and former press secretary to several Oyo State governors, has away.
At the age of 76, Alabi, who was traditionally known as Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, passed away on Saturday morning in Lagos.
Adeola Oloko, a media assistant to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, confirmed his passing in a statement.
The late journalist will be buried on Sunday in compliance with Islamic customs, according to family sources.
Throughout his illustrious career, Alabi served as press secretary to several Oyo State governors, earning him widespread acclaim in the fields of media, public communication, and public service.
In the Olubadan chieftaincy line, he was known as Abese Olubadan and played a significant role in traditional institution matters.
The family is anticipated to provide more information about the funeral activities and burial plans.
